A gold ring can be worn in the ring slot, but does not give bonuses and does not provide any functions to the player, teleports or otherwise. Like all rings, they are not visible on player characters. They can be sold for up to 245.00 coins to Grum's Gold Exchange in Port Sarim.
Gold rings can be obtained as a reward from the Casket from the Pirate's Treasure quest, as a possible reward from the Capt' Arnav's Chest random event, from bird nests, from salvaging, or from crafting.
The ring itself has little use outside a few Treasure Trails clues.

Trivia
- In a 2018 update, the sprites for unenchanted jewellery were rotated to distinguish them from their enchanted counterparts. However, the gold ring, alongside other gold jewellery, was unaffected by this change.
- The gold ring is nearly identical in appearance to the ring of visibility.
- Using a gold ring on the Volcanic Forge will cause a goblin to spawn, punch the player, and say "My Precious!!! NOOOOO!!!". This is a reference to The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkien.
