A beacon ring is a ring used in the What Lies Below Quest. It is obtained from Zaff and is used to summon him during the quest. After the quest, the ring can no longer summon Zaff and the Operate option becomes unuseable; attempting the option results in the message Zaff has removed the summon charges from the ring. It will not summon him again.

Players can regain this ring for free from Zaff if they lose it, making it a free alternative to the Seers' ring, albeit with a much lower magic attack stat. The ring is similar in stats to the Lunar ring, but has 1 less Magic defence. It can also be re-purchased from Perdu for 6,000 coins.

• The text engraved on the side of the ring, which says "beacon",^[1] is written in the same coded font as the letter to Surok.
• This ring makes a different sound than other pieces of equipment when equipped.
• The on-ground model for this item is among the largest in game. It used to be able to be seen by buying the ring from Perdu with a full inventory (but without any coins in the inventory). This would cause the ring to drop to the ground.
