Bronze, Iron, and Steel Metal dragons can be killed with all three combat styles.
As with chromatic dragons, metal dragons are weak to stab attacks and heavy ranged attacks. Unlike chromatic dragons, metal dragons are weak to Earth spells. Slayer masters can assign metal dragons, though many players tend to skip them, especially at lower levels where they do not have good gear, as metal dragons have higher Defence levels compared to their chromatic counterparts. If the player does not have any dragonbane weaponry, they are highly advised to use a magic setup, as they have a slightly lower Magic level compared to Defence, and they suffer 50% more damage and an extra 50% magic accuracy from earth spells.

Equipment
Melee is an efficient way of killing them, especially with a Dragon hunter lance (the best stab weapon against Dragons and draconic creatures) and using Sunfire armour for Prayer or high-tier armour, such as Bandos or Barrows equipment, for Defence. The Dragon hunter lance is the best choice followed by Osmumten's fang. Other options include Ghrazi rapier, Zamorakian hasta and lastly Abyssal Dagger. Using slash weapons, such as an Abyssal whip, is not recommended due to their high slash defences. As their Defence is extremely high, the higher the stab bonus the faster the kills will be, thus using fewer supplies.

Ranged can be feasible and very economical if using broad bolts, but using Diamond bolts (e) can be faster at a greater cost. Always keep a distance of several spaces away from the dragon to avoid its melee attack. All you have to do is make sure your antifire is active, and snipe away at a distance.

Magic is one of the quickest ways to kill metal dragons cheaply, and can be done without taking damage. All the caster has to do is make sure their antifire is active, anti-dragon shield is equipped and attack them at a distance. Unless using a powered staff, earth spells should be used to take advantage of the dragons' earth weakness. Although players can opt for better setups if maging, Void mage can be used as well for accounts below 70 Defence. However, Ahrim's robes will prove to be better when players have level 70 Defence or higher.
