It has no stats and cannot be enchanted, making it purely cosmetic. However, it can be sold for 45-315 coins to Grum's Gold Exchange in Port Sarim, depending on how many he already has.

One can also be obtained in Varrock west bank basement, though 33 Magic for Telekinetic Grab or completion of Crack the Clue 3 is required.

• In a 2018 update, the sprites for unenchanted jewellery were rotated to distinguish them from their enchanted counterparts. However, the gold necklace, alongside other gold jewellery, was unaffected by this change.
