An empty cup is used to hold drinks such as teas or Guthix rests. They can be obtained by crafting unfired cups and firing them in a pottery oven, purchased from various shops, or from tea stalls. Having a conversation with Galahad will also involve him giving the player a cup of tea, after which it can be drunk to get an empty cup. Empty cups can be filled with tea via the tea flask or bowls of teas.

Players can purchase empty cups from the Culinaromancer's Chest in the basement of Lumbridge Castle, with the stock increasing to a max of 50 with each Recipe for Disaster sub-quest completed. For players who have little to no access to the chest, Wistan in the Burthorpe general store has a stock of 20 empty cups.

Alternatively, Bob Barter at the Grand Exchange to decant multiple doses of Guthix rest into single doses and then back to 4-dose versions to create empty cups faster than purchasing them from the Culinaromancer's Chest for 7 coins per cup. It becomes faster with more Guthix rests. Drop or bank the empty cups between instances of this so that it does not use cups from the inventory to decant.

• The empty cup is the only item other than the bucket that can be filled from a well.
