Raging Echoes League/Guide/Farming

Training Farming will be very similar to the main game with constraints based on available farming patches and access to seeds.

Depending on the regions the player selects, their farming rates will vary greatly. However, all players are guaranteed two tree patches, three hardwood tree patches, a belladonna, bush, spirit tree, fruit tree and hop patch.

It is not recommended to train Farming immediately, as players will only able to gain experience via raking weeds, which is incredibly slow. Rather, it is recommended to wait for some experience modifiers before training Farming via Tears of Guthix and Fossil Island fossils to jump into proper Farming.

If allotments are being used, watermelon seeds can provide reasonable experience. Planting Nasturtiums in the flower patch will prevent them from dying during stages.

Supercompost can be obtained from compost bins if the player has selected a region with allotment patches, which coupled with watermelons protected by nasturtiums allows for a steady supply. If not available, players will have to settle with the Lunar Chest ( Varlamore✓, Wilderness bosses ( Wilderness✓) or kill zygomites or Ancient Wyverns (requiring 57/82 Slayer respectively). Ultracompost can be obtained by mining volcanic ash, easily obtained from ash piles scattered across Fossil Island.

Farming is modified by the following relics:

Overgrown offers a variety of benefits to farming, such as full protection from disease for all patches, a 75% chance to save seeds after planting, as well as the ability to automatically harvest and replant crops when they are fully grown. It also provides the Leprechaun's vault, which allows access to the Seed vault from anywhere in Gielinor, and automatically applies Ultracompost to all patches. Overgrown is essentially useful for players who have a fair amount of seed stock and passively training Farming without having to visit patches.

• Bird house runs can be started on Fossil Island, providing a source of seeds, bird nests, and Hunter experience.
• Low level seeds can be bought from Olivia at the Draynor Seed Market and players can steal from the stalls at level 27 Thieving. Olivia won't sell seeds to you if you have stolen from the stand or nearby master farmers in the last 30 minutes.
• A variety of seeds can be pickpocketed from master farmers starting at level 38 Thieving. They can be found in Draynor Village and near Lumbridge within the starting regions.
• Temple trekking in Morytania✓ can provide a large supply of watermelon seeds for experience and making supercompost.
• Theatre of Blood in Morytania✓ can provide yew, palm, magic and most notably, mahogany seeds. While hardwood patches are limited to 4 (3 by default with Misthalin✓ and 1 with Varlamore✓), at tier 7, each fully grown mahogany tree provides 254,544 experience despite their longer growth time of around 17 hours.
  • Players who are seeking mahogany seeds are recommended to use normal mode in a group of 5, as uniques are limited to one per team. In addition, the chest makes three rolls on the table, and it is possible to roll the same drop multiple times. Hard mode will always result in everyone getting uniques unless the team dies in every room, and solo normal mode is more likely to roll a unique.
• Giant Mole in Asgarnia✓ can be killed to convert its mole skin and mole claw drops into bird nests from Wyson. These provide a good assortment of seeds.
• Zulrah in Tirannwn✓ has a good assortment of high-level seeds, ideally spirit and Calquat tree seeds.
• Phantom Muspah in Fremennik✓ has a good assortment of mid and high-level seeds.
• Players with excess crystal weapon seeds, crystal armour seeds or crystal tool seeds can bring them to Pennant for a crystal acorn. The acorn can then be planted with 74 Farming at the nearby patch, and will never die. The tree will fully grow in an hour and 36 minutes, and provides 213,856 experience from planting and harvesting. Players can buy crystal weapons off Islwyn and revert them to seeds if they do not have any to trade.
• Farming contracts in the Farming Guild Kourend✓ can provide a large number of all seed types.
