The spirit tree & fairy ring can be built in the teleport space of the superior garden in a player-owned house. It requires 95 Construction, 83 Farming, and a watering can to build and when built, it gives 885 Construction and Farming experience. Players can teleport to other fairy rings and spirit trees using this teleportation space. Other players can use the tree-ring, provided they have met the requirements to do so. This does not count towards the number of spirit trees a player may own.

A set of goblin decorations can be used on the tree to make a Christmas-themed spiritual fairy tree, or a Raging echoes spirit tree scroll to make a Raging Echoes League-themed tree. Using a spade on the tree while in building mode allows the player to rotate it. The Raging echoes spirit tree scroll can be removed by attempting to remove the spirit tree in build mode.

The minimum levels a spirit tree & fairy ring can be built at are 90 Construction (with use of a spicy stew) and 78 Farming (also with the use of a spicy stew). A crystal saw cannot be used. Otherwise, the alternative is making 2 superior gardens and planting the tree and fairy ring separately, which requires level 75 Construction and 85 Construction respectively.

Compared with an ordinary fairy ring in a player-owned-house, the spirit tree & fairy ring does not have a right-click favourites menu. The loss of this feature may be a reason to prefer a separate ring and tree as opposed to the combined version.
