Salts are minerals able to be mined by players after completion of the Making Friends with My Arm quest. Salts can be found in the salt mine beneath Weiss. There are three types of salts: Te salt, Efh salt, and Urt salt. Within the salt mine players can mine all three types of salt with level 72 Mining.

Basalt can also be mined within the salt mine with level 72 Mining. Basalt can be used with salt to create stony basalt and icy basalt, which can teleport the player to the Troll Stronghold and Weiss, respectively.

With the appropriate Construction and Firemaking levels, players can use salt to build fire pits in various locations throughout Gielinor to receive various permanent beneficial conveniences.

Mining

All three salts are mined in quantities based on visible Mining level.

Fire pits

There are six fire pits, initially labelled as old fire pits, that can be built and lit. In order to build a fire pit, players require a tinderbox, saw, hammer, two steel bars, two mahogany planks, and various combinations of salts.

Trivia

The three salts, Te, Efh and Urt, spell out "Teef hurt", suggesting the Weiss trolls attempted to eat them before discovering its use for Firemaking.
