Sailing

Sailing hazards are dangerous effects that can be encountered in the ocean while Sailing. When completing a sea charting task, if there are hazards in the area the task will give a warning about them.

If the player enters a hazardous area without adequate protection, any crewmembers operating ship facilities will "panic", cancelling their current orders and will not respond to the player's commands until the ship is out of the hazard zone. Additionally, the player's ship is significantly slowed.

Some hazards can be prevented or mitigated through having better equipment on the player's ship.

As with some content in sealed crates, some sailing hazards can kill players, and Hardcore Ironmen will lose their status if they die in such a manner.
