Crew Management/Strategies

This page provides guidance for assigning crew mates.

Crew mate stats are abbreviated here as they are in-game, by using the first letter of a stat followed by the level.

For example, Jobless Jim has Helmsmanship level 2, Privateering level 1, and Deckhandiness level 3. This is abbreviated as (H2)(P1)(D3).

Crew mates will help carry crates during port courier tasks. The total number of crates that can be carried in a single board or disembark is equal to 1 for the player, plus 1 for each crew mate with level 1 or 2 in deckhandiness, plus 2 crates for each crew mate with level 3 or 4 in deckhandiness. For example, with a crew of Jobless Jim and Ex-Captain Siad, each crew mate will carry 2 crates while the player carries 1 crate. This results in (2+2+1)=5 total crates carried by the crew.

The player will get 100% experience from operating a salvaging hook. If operating two salvaging hooks simultaneously, this table assumes the player would receive 200% experience.
