Extreme heat is a game mechanic occurring in the Karuulm Slayer Dungeon beyond the entrance chamber. It causes the player to take 4 damage every tick, which can quickly kill the player.

Wearing boots of stone, boots of brimstone or granite boots will prevent the extreme heat from ever damaging the player. Players will be warned if they attempt to explore beyond the entrance chamber without one of these boots. Additionally, players that have completed the elite Kourend & Kebos Diary can wear any type of footwear, or no footwear, without being damaged.
