Calcified rocks are found in the Cam Torum Mine, requiring level 41 Mining to mine. Rather than ore, mining the rocks will yield blessed bone shards, as well as a small chance of receiving a calcified deposit. Mining enhancers such as Varrock armour do not provide extra resources with calcified rocks.

Bone shards are stackable, but at least one empty inventory space is still required to mine the rocks.

The rocks deplete after around 70 seconds. Every 1–2 minutes, water will leak from certain rocks, boosting the skilling success rate by 15%. This is indicated by the message Some cracks around the cave begin to ooze water. When the water stops flowing after 20-30 seconds, the deposit will be depleted.

To disincentivise world hopping for watery rocks, players who do so whilst in the mine will receive the message Your pickaxe keeps slipping on the rocks as it's still wet from the last deposit. This de-buff can be removed by leaving the area and returning. Alternatively, waiting for the next cycle of watery rocks will also clear the de-buff.

Mining calcified rocks under the correct conditions will give a red token; when the player receives one, a game message will state You find a small token while mining.

Rocks deplete on a timer rather than from being mined, and either blessed bone shards or calcified deposits are produced on every successful mining attempt. Calcified deposits also grant an additional 3 experience when received.

The probability to succeed on a given mining attempt scales with Mining level, and when water is oozing the success rate is boosted by 15%.

Pre-roll

The mining gem drop table has a 1/256 chance to roll on every mining attempt;[1] if the player is wearing a charged amulet of glory, amulet of glory (t), or amulet of eternal glory, the probability increases to 1/64.2.[2][3] If the table successfully rolls, the player may receive an uncut gem or nothing, and in either case can not receive an ore.[4] This neither depletes the rock nor grants Mining experience. The rates shown are for every mining attempt.
