A broken dragon pickaxe is a rare loot from opening ore packs from the Volcanic Mine reward shop.
It can be repaired back to a dragon pickaxe by speaking to Nurmof in the Dwarven Mine, for a fee of 2,500,000 coins. Repairing a broken dragon pickaxe does not increase the count for a collection log slot for a dragon pickaxe.
Although it has a 'Wield' option, it is not wieldable; this option instead prompts the dialogue: I should get this repaired before I try and use it. Maybe Petrified Pete will know someone who can help.
When receiving the pickaxe from an ore pack, the message You find something unexpected in the ore pack... it's a broken pickaxe! will be displayed.

Trivia
- The expected 400,000 points spent on ore packs could instead be spent on 467 runite ore, which could then be sold for 4,783,626 coins. Combined with the repair fee, the effective cost of a pickaxe obtained in this manner is 7,283,626 coins. The average value of ores obtained from each sack offsets the cost by a relatively small amount.
