A large rock is used in the Volcanic Mine to increase the gas pressure by blocking gas chambers. Should the gas pressure be too high, players should mine the blockage to reduce the pressure and maintain the mine's stability.

Players cannot take the rock out of the mine, as it will disappear upon leaving. However, should players die in the mine with the rock in their possession, it can be smuggled out of the mine by reclaiming the player's lost items from Petrified Pete, but note that the rock cannot be deposited into the bank.
