The profit rate assumes 65 kills per hour. Your actual profits may be higher or lower depending on your speed and luck. At maximum efficiency, it is possible to obtain ~80+ kills per hour.
Brutal black dragons may be found in the Catacombs of Kourend. The average value of one kill is 26,240.32 coins. It is recommended to bring 2-3 Prayer potions (depending on Prayer level and whether you bury the dragon bones), a divine ranging potion and an extended antifire. Protect from Magic should always be activated, or death is certain due to their extremely powerful magical attacks as well as dragonfire. Together, Protect from Magic and Antifire nullify all damage from a distance, but players need to make sure that both are on simultaneously. Melee damage is still highly damaging, so players should be careful if picking up loot while next to an attacking dragon.
Players should always restore prayer and health at Player-owned house or at Ferox Enclave and teleport back using Xeric's talisman. Restoring at Ferox using a ring of dueling is a good option for players without an Ornate rejuvenation pool. It also can be faster than restoring at a POH, since a bank box is right next to the Ferox Pool of refreshment, eliminating the need to teleport a second time to bank loot from kills. The Pool of Refreshment will remove any stat bonuses, as from Divine ranging potions.
Since banking and returning is so quick it is vital players pick up all black d'hide, bank and return. Often the player will have to cut their trips short due to filling up their inventory rather than running out of supplies. Players should bring the runes to cast high level alchemy. This will allow them to get 1-2 more kills per trip.
At high kill rates it is easier and the same gp/hr to extend trips by burying/leaving all dragon bones and fill up only with black d'hide!
Players should bury dragon bones to restore prayer due to the catacombs prayer effect. This requires increased effort to save a mere ~1 prayer potion per trip thus many may opt to just bring an extra prayer potion instead (bonecrusher necklace nullifies this but will decrease kills/hr). Additionally due to the minor stat increases of rings and boots for ranging, bringing boots/rings with high prayer bonus (ring of the gods and/or devout boots) over offensive boot/rings is a practical choice.
