The profit rate assumes 10 kills per hour with max gear and combat stats. Your actual profits may be higher or lower depending on your actual kc/hour, your luck, and how fast you can bank in between kills. The input rate for runes is assuming the player is using an eye of ayak.

See Phosani's Nightmare/Strategies for a guide on killing Phosani's Nightmare.

Magic and melee are required for this boss, as the totems are guaranteed to take double damage from magic attacks. The best options are ideally powered staves, such as Tumeken's shadow. When using best-in-slot magic gear and the boost from an imbued heart, the shadow has a max hit of 66 (132), eye of ayak 44 (88), sangunesti staff 47 (94) and trident of the swamp 46 (92). Granted, the cost of each cast varies; 1,290, an ayak cast costs 302 a trident cast costs 473. The Sanguinesti staff has an additional max hit over the trident, but a cast costs 1,122. Ayak is the most cost-effective of the four, with one cast under that of a trident but maintaining good damage with a 3-tick attack speed compared to the other staves' 4 and 5-tick speeds.

The scythe of vitur and inquisitor's mace (with the full set) are nearly identical in kill times. However, players seeking to reduce costs are recommended to use the mace over the scythe, as it is more accurate and has no costs, whereas a scythe swing costs 824.38 coins per attack, which can add up over time and cause a loss given the boss' low value of common drops.

The chance of receiving a unique item per kill is ~1/113; The armour, mace, and staff drop table has a ~1/143 chance to roll, and the orb drop table has a 1/533 chance to roll. These are given as tertiary drops. The orbs have a separate drop table from the rest of the drops, so it is possible, although extremely rare, to get an orb and a piece of equipment from one kill.

Using best-in-slot gear and having access to the Slepe teleport, kills should take around 5:00 to 5:30 on average with a minute for banking and returning to the boss. You will get more kills in if you are able to do two or three kill trips at a time.
