An oak altar can be built in the Altar space of the Chapel in a player-owned house. It requires 45 Construction to build and gives 240 experience when built. The player must have a hammer and a saw in order to build it. Like most altars it can be prayed at to restore prayer points.

It gives normal Prayer experience when a set of bones are offered at it. With one incense burner lit, it gives 150% Prayer experience. If two incense burners are lit it will give 200% Prayer experience.
