This guide assumes an average of 15 cotton bolls from each patch, hence 75 bolls in total per run. Profit per hour may vary depending on your yield.

Farming cotton bolls can be a very profitable way to spend a few minutes at a time. Magic secateurs help increase profits due to the 10% boost to crop yield. The expected yield at higher Farming levels is significantly higher than at the minimum Farming requirement. Players may also choose to plant an Attas seed in the anima patch of the Farming Guild, which will increase the expected yield to ~16.5 cotton bolls per plant on average, for a total of 82.5 bolls per run. Additionally, it may be beneficial to pay a nearby gardener to watch over your crops to ensure they don't become diseased, although the price of hemp is typically prohibitively high for this purpose.

Players should bring 15 cotton seeds, and any means of teleportation. Then, players can start their hops run at any hops patch withdrawing any additional supplies needed from the Tool leprechaun. After planting, remember to apply the Ultracompost before moving on to the next patch.

An example of a hops run is provided below:

    1. Use the Chronicle to teleport to the Champions' Guild, then run south to the Lumbridge farm patch (or use the cowbell amulet and run north out of the cow farm).
    2. Teleport near to a Fairy ring and take the fairy ring CKQ to Aldarin.
    3. Teleport to Camelot (ideally Seers Village) and run north-west to the patch above McGrubor's Wood (or music cape and run south-west).
    4. Teleport to Port Sarim and take a boat to Entrana, then run west to the patch.
    5. Teleport to Yanille and run north.

    Keep in mind:

    1. Players who haven't completed the hard Ardougne diary yet will need level 16 Agility in order to cross the underwall tunnel into Yanille.
    2. A dramen staff is needed to get to the Aldarin hops patch via the fairy ring before completion of the elite Lumbridge & Draynor Diary, but Dramen staffs are not allowed on Entrana, so must be banked before heading there.
