Vampyre kraken are powerful sea krakens that are exclusively found in the Northern Ocean. This essentially gives them a requirement of 78 Sailing for the Eternal brazier, which in turn has an unboostable 76 Sailing requirement to acquire the eternal brazier schematic. They do not count towards Cave Kraken or Vampyre slayer tasks.

The player may be assigned to kill them as a bounty task starting at 80 Sailing. A guaranteed bounty task for them can always be found at Lunar Isle.

Alongside armoured krakens, vampyre krakens can drop dragon keel parts, large dragon keel parts, dragon metal sheets, inky paint and bottled storms.

18 March 2026 (Update)	To compensate for boat combat changes, vampyre krakens received the following adjustments: Hitpoints increased from 225 to 311. Combat level increased from 189 to 211. Light Ranged defence increased from 50 to 120. Standard Ranged defence increased from 25 to 75. Heavy Ranged defence increased from 50 to 60. The quantity of rune cannonballs dropped has been increased from 40-50 to 48-60. The quantity of dragon cannonballs dropped has been increased from 25-35 to 30-42.
26 November 2025 (Update)	Sea creatures that shouldn’t drop bones (such as sharks, rays, and kraken) no longer do so.

Trivia

The vampyre kraken is likely influenced from the vampire squid.
It has the highest combat level of all sea monsters.
