Location where Great white sharks can be safespotted in The Lonely Sea. Kill the easternmost shark if it attacks you. Once it respawns, leave it alone unless it re-aggros; it will eventually safespot itself.

Great white sharks are monsters that can be found in several oceans. Starting at level 75 Sailing, they can be assigned as a bounty task. A guaranteed bounty task can be received from Port Roberts.

They are the only monster that drops broken dragon hooks.

No type of keel can fully protect against attacks from them.

18 March 2026 (Update)	To compensate for boat combat changes, great white sharks received the following adjustments: Hitpoints increased from 175 to 243. Defence level increased from 0 to 70. Combat level increased from 141 to 175. Light Ranged defence increased from 70 to 100. Standard Ranged defence decreased from 70 to 20. The quantity of rune cannonballs dropped has been increased from 20-30 to 24-36. The quantity of dragon cannonballs dropped has been increased from 10-15 to 12-18. A bug has been fixed in which elite clue scrolls were only rolled when a pre-roll dragon item is received.
3 December 2025 (Update)	Fixed a bug that caused great white sharks to not roll on the dragon table as intended.
26 November 2025 (Update)	Sea creatures that shouldn’t drop bones (such as sharks, rays, and kraken) no longer do so.

Trivia

Its examine text when killed is a reference to the line "You're gonna need a bigger boat." in the 1975 film Jaws.
