At level 75 Sailing, the player may choose to accept Great white shark bounty tasks that appear on numerous notice boards across the game. They can be found in many areas in the Ocean, with three of these locations being especially useful for different ways to kill them.

Great white sharks are fairly accurate, so upgrading the Keel on your Boat can help with reducing the damage your boat takes and therefore reducing the amount of Gp/resources you spend on Repair kits.

Great white sharks are notable for their Broken dragon hook drop which drops at 2x the rate when killed on a bounty task, making them quite profitable to kill. They also frequently drop dragon boat parts like the Dragon metal sheet and Large dragon keel parts, making them a good option for Ironmen looking to upgrade their boat.

The notice board at Port Roberts will permanently have a Great white shark jaw bounty task available.

Strategy

Among the many locations that great white sharks spawn, there are three locations that are most notable for their utility in completing bounty tasks.

Solo

Killing great white sharks solo can be done a couple of different ways. The first is to have your crew mates man both cannons while you wear mage or range gear and kill sharks. The other way is to man one cannon yourself. This method results in slightly less kills per hour, but requires less gear and can reduce the number of cannonballs you use depending on your Ranged level and equipment. This is also useful if you are using Incendiary cannonballs because your max hit on a cannon will most often be higher than that of your crewmates. This then increases the amount of burn damage that is done over time due to burn being one fifth of the original damage roll.

Safespotting

Safespotting great white sharks is lower kills per hour due to the number of spawns that will be available to you, but this allows you to not spend any repair kits.

Location where Great white sharks can be safespotted in The Lonely Sea. Kill the easternmost shark if it attacks you. Once it respawns, leave it alone unless it re-aggros; it will eventually safespot itself.

Multi-player

When you bring friends with you, the location with more spawns to the east of Port Piscarilius is a good location so that you do not run out of sharks.
