Albatross | OSRS Index

Albatross are monsters that can be found in the Sunset Ocean, Shrouded Ocean, Northern Ocean, and Unquiet Ocean. They may be assigned as a bounty task starting at 50 Sailing. A guaranteed bounty task can be received from The Summer Shore.

They are killed for their swift albatross feather drops, which is needed to build the gale catcher facility.

Boats require a dragon keel to not take any damage from them.

1 April 2026 (Update)	Reduced Hitpoints from 179 to 135 and combat level from 121 to 110.
18 March 2026 (Update)	To compensate for boat combat changes, albatrosses received the following adjustments: Hitpoints increased from 125 to 179. Defence level increased from 0 to 60. Combat level increased from 93 to 121. Swift albatross feather drop rate decreased from 1/29.1 to 1/35.

Prior to a rework in 2007, pelicans were albatross.
Albatross were present during the March 2025 Sailing Alpha, but were misspelled as Albatros.
Its examine text when killed is a reference to the Albatross sketch from Monty Python's Flying Circus.
Swift albatross feathers were originally intended to be a 1 in 200 drop,^[1] but due to a bug they were much more common, at a rate of where is the N^th harmonic number.^[2]
