Veiled krakens are powerful sea krakens that are exclusively found throughout the Southern Expanse, requiring an adamant helm to reach. Starting at level 80 Sailing, they may be assigned as bounty tasks at Port Tyras and Deepfin Point. A guaranteed bounty task can be received from Deepfin Point. Veiled krakens can drop inky paint like other kraken. Their unique drop is the dragon cannon barrel; although shared with opulent salvage, they have a considerably more common drop rate for it.

Unlike other sailing krakens, veiled krakens attack with melee. They are highly defensive in a manner similar to armoured krakens; although the defences are inversed (having more magic defence compared to ranged), veiled krakens also have 15 flat armour, meaning any melee or ranged hits that deal 15 or less damage will simply not hurt it at all. They are weakest to heavy ranged attacks, although the high flat armour means players should man a cannon to deal considerable damage to them. Alternatively, in spite of their high magic defence, magic can also be used with confliction gauntlets, as their high magic defence means that its passive will activate frequently for increased accuracy; magic attacks also ignore flat armour.

A safespot exists for veiled krakens as shown by the picture below. This allows players to kill veiled krakens without ever being attacked, although this will only attract the spawn south-west of the safespot as the others will be too far. Entering the safespot from the south will aggro a nearby great white shark, but it can't attack into the safespot; entering from the north will rarely aggro the krakens, but if they do then they can attack into the safespot. An estimated 83 kills per hour can be achieved unassisted at 99 ranged with a dragon cannon, dragon cannonballs, elite void armour, and divine ranging potions, losing approximately 195 cannonballs if the ballistic attractor is built. The safespot will allow players to loot the kraken's corpse without having to move out of the spot.
