Narwhals are monsters that can be found in the Northern Ocean. The player may be assigned to kill them as a bounty task starting at 62 Sailing. A guaranteed bounty task can be received from Rellekka.

They drop the narwhal horn, which is used in the creation of the chum spreader.

Any boat with a rune keel or better will not take any damage from narwhals.

3 June 2026 (Update)	Drop rates for Dragon Nails have been increased.
1 April 2026 (Update)	Reduced Hitpoints from 220 to 187 and combat level from 119 to 111.
18 March 2026 (Update)	To compensate for boat combat changes, narwhals received the following adjustments: Hitpoints increased from 155 to 220. Combat level increased from 103 to 119. Narwhal horn drop rate increased from 1/100 to 1/20. Dragon nails drop rate decreased from 1/120.4 to 1/150.
26 November 2025 (Update)	Narwhals were added to V's Belt. Prior to this, it was possible for players to be assigned narwhals even if they did not have the 78 Sailing to build an eternal brazier in order to safely navigate the Northern Sea.

Trivia

The examine text is a reference to MrWeebl's "Narwhals" animated video, which became an Internet meme in the late 2000s.
Dragon nails were originally intended to be a 1 in 1,024 drop,^[2] but due to a bug they were much more common, at a rate of where is the N^th harmonic number.^[3]
