Metamorphosis is a feature available to some pets which can alter their appearance. This option can be unlocked by default, with consumable or one-time items, or after completing certain criteria depending on the pet.

Pets such as Kalphite princess do not require any items to metamorph, while the pet Beaver colour variants require specific logs every time you want to change its appearance AFTER unlocking the ability to do so with a funky shaped log. These visual appearances are visible to other players and are retained as long as the pet is in your possession, in the bank, or in a menagerie in your player-owned house, but can be temporarily reverted if the pet is lost on death.
