The pheasant is a variant of the beaver pet that can be permanently unlocked by using the golden pheasant egg, a rare reward from the Pheasant Control Forestry event, on the beaver. Once unlocked, the pheasant can be freely transformed between the beaver and pheasant versions, as well as the fox if that variant has been unlocked as well. If the beaver has been recoloured and the player metamorphs to either the fox or the pheasant and then back into the beaver, then the beaver will revert back into the default colour.
On death, if a player loses their pet (as a follower or in your inventory) it will wander around for 30 seconds before disappearing completely. It can then be reclaimed from Probita in East Ardougne for no cost.
