The mayor of Catherby is a fish found in Catherby during and after the quest Current Affairs. The fish acts as the 26th replacement for the original fish that was voted as mayor of the town, in favour of the disliked Councillor Catherine.

Players can use the mayor's consult option at any time for advice, with the mayor indicating either agreement or disagreement on the matter at hand.

Using fish food on the mayor will consume it, resulting in the message The mayor accepts your generous donation to his campaign. Poisoned fish food has no effect.

The mayor can be stored in a menagerie of a player-owned house.

Destroying the mayor will display the message You drop the fishbowl and it smashes on the floor. The Mayor of Catherby sadly dies as it does so. Another mayor can be obtained by talking to Arhein in Catherby.

Bug:

If the mayor of Catherby is banked, it is considered lost. When getting a replacement, the banked one is replaced with the new mayor.

• If you ask Arhein for another mayor to replace a destroyed one, he will say "I believe that puts us at mayor [number] now. Long live the mayor." The number is replaced by however many mayors of Catherby the player has asked for, plus the 27 that came before it.
