The small key is an item dug up on Minotaurs' Rest by following the lockbox directions from the lockbox on the Crown Jewel: "On Minotaurs' Rest, starting just outside the beastmasters door, move one pace south for each capybara and one pace west for each crab."
The small key can be obtained without ever obtaining the lockbox directions, and can be banked should the player not have the level 64 Sailing requirement to dock on the Crown Jewel.
Upon opening the lockbox on the Crown Jewel with this small key, players are given the rosewood cargo hold schematic.
