The tooth half of key can be obtained by killing Amoxliatl, The Hueycoatl, The Doom of Mokhaiotl and creatures within the Ruins of Tapoyauik. It can be combined with a loop half of key to create a moon key.
Multiple tooth halves can be received before finishing or using any moon keys.

Drop rate
The drop rate from monsters in the Ruins of Tapoyauik depends on their combat levels and whether they are Slayer monsters. It can be computed as follows:
- If the monster is Amoxliatl:
- Otherwise, if the monster has a Slayer level requirement to kill:

For a Slayer monster, the highest possible drop rate is 1/200, and for a non-Slayer monster it is 1/250. Note that this formula only applies in the Ruins of Tapoyauik; the Doom of Mokhaiotl and the Hueycoatl are special cases.
Despite icefiends having the rarest drop rate, they only have 15 hitpoints and are found in multicombat regions, so they are perhaps the most abundant source of key halves in terms of drops per hour. Using the venator bow and goading potions, players can kill between 1000 and 1500 icefiends per hour, leading to a droprate of approximately 1 key piece per hour.
