The temple key is a key obtained in the Forthos Dungeon that unlocks the eastern and western Temple Doors within the dungeon. The key only needs to be in the inventory when entering the gates for the first time, after which the doors will be permanently unlocked.

Obtaining the key requires offering a certain number of baby, lava, superior, or regular dragon bones on the sacred bone burner. To access the bone burner, the temple coin must be obtained from Olbertus, either by killing him or by bribing him with 5 dragonstones. This coin then needs to be used on the stone relief in the Crypt of the Moon.

If Olbertus is bribed with dragonstones, only 100 bones have to be offered on the burner, but if Olbertus is defeated instead, the number of bones to be offered is increased to 200. After access to the burner has been obtained, a lever can be pulled at the western side of the room, in order to unlock the gate to the south of the burner.

If lost, the key can be re-obtained from Brother Aimeri.

This key cannot be placed on the steel key ring.

• It's possible to claim a second key from Brother Aimeri while the first one still rests on the Sacred Bone Burner.
• If you did not take the key initially there is no way to make it respawn or retrieve it from Brother Aimeri; leaving you with 0 keys.
