Urium remains are an item found and used in the Shades of Mort'ton minigame. To obtain these remains, the player must kill urium shades, located behind a solid gold door in the Shade Catacombs.
About and uses
To burn the urium remains, first place redwood pyre logs or rosewood pyre logs on a funeral pyre, followed by the urium remains, then light the pyre with a tinderbox. This will grant the player 500 Firemaking experience for redwood pyre logs and 590 Firemaking experience for rosewood pyre logs (750 and 885 respectively with elite Morytania Diary complete) and 120.5 Prayer (180.7 with hard Morytania Diary complete) experience. Neither the pyromancer outfit nor zealot's robes give any of their effects when burning shade remains.
Urium remains will always reward the player with either a gold shade key or some coins. Gold keys give unrestricted access to all areas of the Shade Catacombs and open the gold chests in the urium area of the catacombs, which give the best rewards out of all the chests.
Coins and keys dropped by cremating these remains will not despawn for five minutes, and cannot be taken by other players during this time. When dropped by the player, they will despawn and become visible to others at the normal rate.
