Hydra bones are the remains obtained from killing hydras or the Alchemical Hydra, which give 110 Prayer experience when buried. This can be increased by offering the bones in different ways:
- 330 XP when casting Sinister Offering.
- 330 XP when offered at the sacred bone burner after the appropriate faith level has been achieved.
- 385 XP when offered at a gilded altar with two burners lit.
- 440 XP when offered at the Ectofuntus in the form of hydra bonemeal.
- 465 XP when blessed and broken down into blessed bone shards and offered at the libation bowl, or 558 XP when offered with a jug of blessed sunfire wine. Virilis outside the altar will exchange noted bones for 10 coins each.
- 770 XP on average when offered at the Chaos Temple in the Wilderness. Each offering gives 385 XP, which is the same as the gilded altars with two burners lit, but with an additional 50% chance to not consume the bones.
Burying them while wearing a dragonbone necklace will restore 4 prayer points.
Hydra bones provide the fourth highest amount of Prayer experience per bone in the game, behind dagannoth bones, ourg bones, and superior dragon bones.
