Fiyr remains are an item found and used in the Shades of Mort'ton minigame. To obtain these remains, the player must kill fiyr shades, located behind a solid silver door in the Shade Catacombs. Shades encountered during Temple Trekking may also drop fiyr remains.
To burn the fiyr remains, first place magic, ironwood, redwood or rosewood pyre logs on a funeral pyre, followed by the fiyr remains, then light the pyre with a tinderbox. This will grant the player Firemaking and Prayer experience (see table). Once burned, a silver or gold shade key, or some coins, will appear next to the pyre.
Gold keys give unrestricted access to all areas of the Shade Catacombs and can open gold rewards chests, while silver keys give access to all areas up to the fiyr area in the north-west corner of the catacombs and can open silver rewards chests.
Coins and keys dropped by cremating these remains will not despawn for five minutes, and cannot be taken by other players during this time. When dropped by the player, they will despawn and become visible to others at the normal rate.
