Climbing boots are a low-level piece of armour used in the troll quest series, requiring the completion of the Death Plateau quest to wear. After finishing Death Plateau, players may buy climbing boots from Tenzing for 12 each.

Climbing boots are popular among players of all combat levels due to their low price, lack of negative bonuses, and the fact that they give +2 Strength bonus with no Defence requirement. They offer the same strength bonus as rune boots and mixed hide boots, which drop from Nechryael or can be crafted with 69 Crafting, respectively. By contrast, climbing boots can be obtained by most players within 30 minutes of making an account.

The boots can be taken, along with an iron bar, to the blacksmith in Burthorpe to produce spiked boots.
