Aquanites are Slayer monsters found in the Ynysdail Cavern beneath Ynysdail. They require level 78 Slayer to fight, and accessing Ynysdail itself requires 73 Sailing and a boat equipped with an adamant keel or better.

Aquanites can be killed normally and Mortimer can assign them as a Slayer task by default; however, to receive them as a Slayer task from Nieve or Duradel, players must first unlock them for 80 Slayer reward points. A task extension is also available for 100 points. Aquanites can drop the unique Aquanite tendon, used to make the Aquanite hopper.

Accessing Ynysdail requires the player to enter the crystalline maze from the outside, or build the rowboat hotspot on the island. This rowboat, once built, will generate another one north of Gwenith. Using this rowboat requires completion of Song of the Elves. It is recommended to complete the quest to avoid having to set the ship back to a mooring point if a greater teleport focus is not on it.

While on an Aquanite slayer task, there is a 1/200 chance for an Elder Aquanite to spawn after killing an Aquanite, provided the player has the Bigger and Badder unlock. Elder Aquanites have a special attack that will deal 35 damage if Protect from Magic has been active for some time, so flicking the prayer on and off between the enemy's attacks is required to avoid taking damage.

Aquanites attack with Magic and have high accuracy, so using Protect from Magic is highly recommended. Alternatively, they can be safespotted with a 9 or 10 tile attack range. They are located in a single-way combat area, and a Dwarf multicannon cannot be used as the ground is too damp to place one.

When hit with a slash attack, an Aquanite’s lure will be severed, reducing its stab Defence by 50 (from 60 to 10). This greatly improves the accuracy of subsequent stab attacks and is especially helpful for players with lower Attack levels. Because dealing damage is not required to sever the lure, a fast 4-tick slash weapon such as a Scimitar or Abyssal whip is recommended. The Saradomin godsword's special attack can also be used if no other special attack weapons are brought along.

The first time traveling to Ynysdail, you must sail there manually, using a boat equipped with an adamant keel or better. Upon arrival on the island, the player can build a rowboat. After building the rowboat, players can travel freely between Ynysdail and Gwenith.
