Armour/Prayer armour

Prayer armour is used to slow the rate at which Prayer points drain when praying. Unlike the other three general categories of armour, there are few items within it that can be considered uniquely Prayer-related. Many shields, magic robes, and types of metal armour can also be considered Prayer armour.

Prayer equipment

Prayer robes

Priest, Monk, Shade, Zamorak, Druid

Priest gowns and Zamorak robes give the lowest Prayer bonus, while Druid robes give a slightly higher bonus. Monk's robes give the highest Prayer bonus in Free-to-play. Monk's robes are very popular when Player killing. Prayer robes are not used often in minigames (nor are they recommended to be used in them). The wearer may find themselves often coming under attack from different attack styles in a multi-combat area and, being able to use only one protection prayer at a time, this basically ensures a swift death (i.e. a player with monk's robes using Protect from Melee against a warrior coming under fire by a ranger, and being unable to protect from both).

God books

Holy (Saradomin), Balance (Guthix), Unholy (Zamorak), Law (Armadyl), War (Bandos), Darkness (Zaros)

The God books are often used when using Prayer. These are obtained by completing the Horror from the Deep quest. They then must be completed by adding God pages obtained from Treasure Trails or by trading other players. The incomplete books give a +5 Prayer bonus, while completed books also give defensive and offensive bonuses.

Temple Knight armour

Initiate, Proselyte

Initiate armour and Proselyte armour are earned by completing the Recruitment Drive and Slug Menace quests respectively. Initiate armour has the same stats as Mithril armour plus a Prayer bonus, and Proselyte armour has the same stats as its Adamant armour counterparts, with an even larger prayer bonus.

Vestment robes

Saradomin, Guthix, Zamorak,
Mitre (Hat), Robe top, Robe bottom, Cloak, Stole (Amulet), Crozier (Weapon)

The Vestment robe sets are made up of six pieces. Stoles give the second highest Prayer bonus of any amulet, behind only the Dragonbone necklace. Vestment robe tops and legs give a Prayer bonus equivalent to Monk's robes, but also have a small magic bonus. The croziers have equivalent stats to a battlestaff with an additional prayer bonus, but are not often used as they do not provide unlimited runes. Vestments can be obtained from Treasure Trails, or by trading with another player.

Verac's armour

Helm, Brassard, Plateskirt, Flail

Verac's armour is a high-level Melee armour that gives a Prayer bonus. The whole set gives the same prayer bonuses as Proselyte armour, however its defensive bonuses are significantly higher. When all of Verac's set is worn (including Verac's flail), the player has a chance of hitting through protection prayers via its special, Defiler. The set effect coupled with the Prayer bonus makes this armour very popular when fighting the Kalphite Queen and in PvP. Verac's armour is obtained from the Barrows minigame or by trading with another player. Like other Barrows armour, Verac's armour has to be repaired after 15 hours of Combat. When a full set of Verac's and the Amulet of the damned are equipped, the wearer receives an additional +7 Prayer bonus (on top of the amulet's +3), giving an overall prayer bonus equivalent to equipping a stole (+10 prayer bonus).

Ancient ceremonial robes

Ancient ceremonial robes are a set of Zarosian robes. The set is made up of five pieces and do not have any requirements to wear. The robe top and bottoms offer equivalent prayer bonuses to monk robes. All monsters in the Ancient Prison excluding Nex can drop pieces of the set.

Sunfire fanatic armour

Sunfire fanatic armour is a set of armour giving the highest prayer bonus in the game. It is obtained as a possible reward from the Fortis Colosseum. It has the same stats as Rune armour, except for the prayer bonus and lower weight.

Elite black knight armour

Elite black knight armour is a set of armour acquired during While Guthix Sleeps. It has the same prayer bonus as proselyte armour with the defensive stats of mithril armour.

Notes

There are no boots, ring or glove armour pieces that give increased prayer stats.
All F2P rune god armours give +1 prayer bonus per piece.

The Antler Guard also gives the same Prayer bonus while giving the same strength bonus as a Rune defender, but requires 50 and has negative Defence bonuses.
	Holy wraps	+3	Requires 31 to wear. Cheaper alternatives include White gloves and Blessed vambraces, but they only give +1 to Prayer. A Tormented bracelet gives +2, but requires 75 Hitpoints to wear.
	Ring of the gods (i)	+8	The Ring of the gods initially gives +4 Prayer bonus. However, players can imbue their ring via Nightmare Zone to increase its Prayer bonuses to +8. The Ring of suffering (i) gives +4 Prayer and has significantly higher Defence bonuses, but does not give the Holy wrench effect and additionally requires 75 .
