"Skull" was the name originally given to an unobtainable item that exists in the game cache. It was created to replace the noted form of the plain wig from Prince Ali Rescue. Since items could not be fully removed once created, it was added in a hidden update in 2005 to fill this slot. The actual item was just a copy of a pink skirt.

If players attempted to view the skull in game by using cheating software, they would be given a hex edit detected instead.

It was deleted from the game cache in 2005, being replaced by the unobtainable blue partyhat seen in the Draynor Bank Robbery.

• Mage Gower's skull is one of the items requested by Pontak during The Fremennik Trials.
• The Mage Gower was a character in the God letters, who was said to have created the world of Gielinor. He served as a stand-in for Andrew Gower.
