"Bob" was the name of an unobtainable item that could previously be found in the cache. It was released alongside pure essence, and was supposed to be an item used in more advanced Runecrafting named "Large essence". For unknown reasons, the large essence was not initially added to the game.

It was graphically updated in 2006 with the release of Lunar Diplomacy, suggesting it may have been planned to be used when Runecrafting astral runes.

The item was removed in 2016 and replaced by dark essence fragments, which are used to craft blood and soul runes.
