Broken glass is an item that could originally be obtained when searching soil in the Digsite. Although it was obtainable in RuneScape Classic and early RuneScape 2, at some point the soil was changed to give the standard broken glass found at the Fishing Platform. It is unknown exactly when this occurred, but it was possibly with the rework of The Dig Site on 22 August 2006.

It may also have been obtainable by searching various chests or sacks, which would provide various pieces of junk. This feature was removed in an update on 27 September 2006.
