"Box of delights" was the name originally given to an unobtainable item that existed in the game cache. It was created to replace the unique version of shrimps originally obtained on Tutorial Island, which had been deleted. Since items could not be fully removed once created, the box of delights was added in a hidden update in 2005 to fill this slot. The actual item was just a copy of a pink skirt.

If players attempted to view the box of delights in game by using cheating software, they would be given a hex edit detected instead.

In RuneScape, the item later became viewable via Quick Chat, causing much confusion. It was deleted from the game cache in 2017, being replaced by Buchu seeds.
