The Broken plate is an unobtainable item that appears in the game cache but cannot be obtained.

Spinning plates used to have a chance of being dropped when the player spun it, turning into a broken plate. The plate would break the majority of the time, and was impossible to repair. This feature was heavily criticised, as players had no option except to discard the now-useless item and buy a new plate. As a result, the plates were hotfixed on the same day to no longer break. Therefore, broken plates have never been obtainable in Old School RuneScape.

Despite not having an option to equip it, the broken plate has a model for use while equipped, which was used in the breaking animation.
