Pontak is a council member found in the south-eastern corner of Rellekka. During The Fremennik Trials, the player must gain votes of Rellekka's council members to attain citizenship. To gain his vote, he asks the player to collect the following items for him:

• Mage Gower's skull
• A sleeping bag
• Saradomin's wig
• Zamorak's teddy bear
• Guthix's climbing boots
• Cheese from the moon
• A dodo egg
• A left-handed chisel

Since most of these items do not exist, it's deduced that he is simply brushing the player off to let them know that he will never vote for them.

At level 45 Thieving and after The Fremennik Trials, Pontak can be pickpocketed for 40 coins and 65 Thieving experience. He is the ideal Fremennik citizen to pickpocket for Thieving as he is unable to leave his house. He cannot be attacked, though his combat level is 48.

• Mage Gower alludes to Andrew Gower, who Pontak claims is a "mage" because he created RuneScape.
  • An unobtainable item existed in 2005 called Skull, described as "The skull of the Mage Gower."
• The sleeping bag was an item used in RuneScape Classic as part of the fatigue system.
• "Cheese from the Moon" refers the old myth that the Moon is made of cheese.
  • It is possible to obtain cheese from the moon by using the Dairy cow and Dairy churn located on Zanaris. However it is no different to regular cheese, and the player does not have the option of giving it to Pontak anyway.
• Searching the chests in the Slayer Tower basement will occasionally return the message "For a moment you think you've found Zamorak's teddy bear, but the chest is empty."
• The left-handed chisel is a reference to a fool's errand, whereby new employees in the decorating or construction trades are asked by their colleagues to find a "left-handed screwdriver".
