The Market Guard is an attackable NPC that guards the stalls in Rellekka Marketplace. They are non-aggressive towards players, but they will attack a player they spot Thieving from the stalls around them. To steal or buy from a stall, the player must become a Fremennik by completing The Fremennik Trials quest. They have an attack speed of 3, being one tick faster than most melee weapons (such as scimitars).

They have the exact same appearance, stats, and drops as Fremennik warriors, except they wield Fremennik blades instead of warhammers.

Treasure Trails

Killing a market guard for a key to be able to search the drawers on the 1^st floor of the Lighthouse is the solution to the medium cryptic clue: Go to this building to be illuminated, and check the drawers while you are there.

Trivia

Although they wield Fremennik blades, which has an attack speed of 5 (the same attack speed of a longsword), their attack speed is the same as darts.
