Completing Dream Mentor unlocks the Plank Make Lunar spell. Using an elemental staff that provides earth runes slightly increases profits. A rune pouch is not required, though it is recommended as it allows for 1 extra inventory space. Additionally, a decent stack of coins is required due to the cost of each processed log. The profit margins of Plank Make are relatively thin, so verify the prices of each item first (either by checking their real-time prices or by instantly buying and selling the inputs and outputs).

Sawmill vouchers can be also used to create two planks per cast while using only 1 log, and cost 3,314 coins each, or 15 Anima-infused bark each from Forestry (150 bark for 10 vouchers). These vouchers are stackable and only take up one inventory slot. These will increase profits if the output plank's price is greater than 3,314 coins.

Auto-casting Plank Make and banking with an inventory of 12 logs, coins, sawmill vouchers, and a rune pouch takes a little over 47 seconds. This results in an average of 940 casts per hour and ~ 85,000 Magic experience per hour.

Manual casting is significantly more click-intensive, but is also significantly faster. With manual casting, a full inventory can be processed in a little under 23 seconds, allowing for around 1895 casts per hour, approximately doubling the rate of auto-casting.

The rune cost of the Plank Make spell is 372 coins when using a staff to replace earth runes. If using a charged tome of earth and Bryophyta's staff to save nature runes, the cost is 359.96 coins. It is not recommended to buy Bryophyta's staff specifically for this method, as it would take ~377 hours for the staff to pay for itself in nature runes saved (assuming 960 casts per hour).
