Blighted overloads are a stat-boosting potion exclusive to Deadman Mode. Although they are listed in the Grand Exchange in all members worlds, they remain an unobtainable item outside of Deadman worlds. Players can make this potion at level 83 Herblore by combining a 4-dose super combat potion, ranging potion, and magic potion with a piece of chitin, which are obtained from killing monsters at a breach.

A dose of blighted overload, which can only be drunk in dangerous areas, will boost the player's offensive skills, reduce the player's Defence, and cause the player to take 10 damage over the course of 6 seconds (2 damage every 2 ticks). The stat boosts are re-applied every 15 seconds for five minutes until the effects wear off; for Defence, the level will decay if it is over 90% of the player's base level. The blighted overload effect will be removed if the player goes into a safezone with the effect active for longer than 11 ticks.

Blighted overloads appear on the Grand Exchange in main game worlds.

On non-Deadman worlds, attempting to make a Blighted Overload with a 1, 2, or 3 dose set of potions will give the improper prompt in the chat box that would appear on Deadman worlds. Attempting to create the potion with 4 dose potions produces the message "You can only create a Blighted Overload potion in Deadman worlds."
