Nigel is the Deadman mode tutor located at the Lumbridge graveyard, offering information to players about this particular play mode.
He sells Deadman armour, at a cost of one blood money per piece. In order to purchase them, players must use the blood money on Nigel, instead of speaking to him, as there are no dialogue options for purchasing the armour. A full set of Deadman armour currently costs three pieces of blood money, the equivalent to three player kills.
Since Deadman: Apocalypse, the temporary event has allowed the players to transfer their progress onto the world 345 permanent Deadman Mode. Due to this, players who have made any progress on their permanent Deadman Mode world will not be able to log into the temporary Deadman Mode without first talking to Nigel. Players with any progress on their world 345 accounts who wish to participate in the temporary event with the same account must first speak to Nigel while in world 345 to begin the transfer process, where he will give several warnings to confirm the transfer. Leaving Lumbridge or logging back into world 345 will cancel the reset.
In the temporary Deadman Mode worlds, Nigel has two features not present in the permanent world:
- He can disable and enable experience gain for combat stats or only Hitpoints as of Deadman: Annihilation, similarly to a Deadman chest.
- He can teleport the player to one of the following locations, once per day:

With the release of Deadman: Armageddon, Nigel was given a shop where Deadman Points could be spent. Players have access to their gained points after the event has ended.
