The Sigil of Deception is a tier 1 Deadman Mode skilling sigil. It is a permanent unlock that allows for automatically re-pickpocketing an NPC until you can no longer do so. Additionally, it boosts the player's Thieving level to an invisible 150,[1] which drastically improves pickpocketing success rates at early levels.

It is beneficial to stay logged in for as long as possible when training Thieving with the sigil, as the game only checks the player's Thieving level upon login, and the invisible Thieving boost does not dynamically change to stay at 150 as the player levels up. For example, a player with 50 Thieving will receive a +100 boost to get 150 Thieving. If that player then levels up to 75 Thieving without logging out or hopping worlds, they will still receive a +100 boost, giving them 175 Thieving. If they log out and back in or hop worlds, they will properly receive a +75 boost, putting them at 150 Thieving.

In Deadman: Annihilation, it can be purchased from the skull shop. It can be activated by clicking Attune and is a permanent unlock. There is no limit on how many permanent sigils can be active at once. Duplicate sigils can be sold back to the skull shop by using it on the deadman's skull.

In past Deadman Mode events, the un-attuned version was dropped by most monsters (via the Deadman Mode drop table) and was tradeable on the Grand Exchange.

"We've also made a change to the Sigil of Deception, following concerns raised by players that people might just AFK pickpocket Elves on a bunch of characters and find themselves swimming in GP, which harms the overall economy of Deadman. Instead, the Sigil of Deception now effectively sets your Thieving level to an invisible 150, so its description reads: "Automatically re-pickpocket an NPC until you can no longer do so. Drastically improves pickpocketing success rates at early levels.""
