Lord Shiro Shayzien is the leader of the Shayzien House and the commander-in-chief of the Shayzien Army. Found up the ladder on the 1^st floor of the War Tent in the Shayzien Encampment, he is first spoken to by players during the Tale of the Righteous quest.

Shiro is the descendant of King Shayzien VII and is the brother of Elena Hosidius, the wife of Lord Kandur Hosidius. This makes him the uncle of Kandur's two sons, Artur and Pandur.

Shiro has held the title of Lord of Shayzien and commander-in-chief of the Shayzien Army for four years, when his father died. Shiro is currently trying to upkeep his father's legacy, starting with the lizardman war.

Around year 169 of the Fifth Age, an adventurer was tasked by Phileas Rimor with getting permission to investigate Mount Quidamortem as he received a mysterious package regarding the fate of the expedition on the mountain. While investigating the Tower of Magic's prison, they found a skeleton and writing on the wall claiming that there were lizards on the mountain and the king was lying. This got Phileas' attention even more and so he sent them to Shiro to get permission to investigate.

Shiro was reluctant to divert extra troops for unnecessary missions but was convinced by the adventurer to authorise their search, as long as they gave him any useful information as Shayzien VII was his ancestor. The adventurer investigated the mountain and found a smaller version of the Dark Altar inside. Reporting the news to Shiro, he learned from them that Phileas was the one who kicked off the investigation and that Shayzien VII was linked to the failure of the expedition and the lizardmen projects. However, without the parcel, there was not enough concrete evidence and Shiro sent them to Phileas, whose tent was trashed and he himself missing. Shiro was worried with the disappearance but promised to search for him and that the other parts of their investigation was legitimate enough to bring the Library over.

In reality, Shiro had hired a group of barbarians at Land's End to kidnap Phileas, as Kandur believed that Shiro would be unfit for king as he would eagerly wage war on Kingdom of Varlamore as relations between the two had still been sour. Thus, Kandur had sent the parcel with Shayzien VII's journal to Phileas to use him as a third party. After Shiro had Phileas kidnapped and he had returned safely due to the adventurer's assistance, Kandur confronted Shiro and told him to either accept him be king or be exposed for kidnapping one of his own, which would cause his reputation to plummet. Shiro conceded and allowed Kandur to rule, although this would be short-lived as Kandur was assassinated soon after. Kandur's son Artur succeeded him, which Shiro tolerated.
