The Emir is the ruler of Al Kharid, a city on the northern fringe of the massive Kharidian Desert. Since his son's kidnapping, the Emir has been in no state to directly govern Al Kharid, and he has retreated to his private chambers where only Chancellor Hassan may see him. He has ruled the desert town for many years, and it is his only wish that his son, Prince Ali, might be raised to run the state with the same good hand.^[1]

After the rescue of his son, the Emir was unable to thank the adventurer in person due to his age and poor health. He now spends most of his time resting.^[2]

Recently, he acquired the Duel Arena and turned it into Emir's Arena after widespread corruption in the arena was caused by the Calamity Coven.

Trivia

The Emir has also been referred to as the Sultan. In The Feud quest, a mention of the Sultan was changed to the Emir after the release of Beneath Cursed Sands in 2022. He is still referred to as the Sultan in the Rogue Trader miniquest.
A predecessor of the current Emir died in an unfortunate event known as the The Great Carpet Crash of 76.^[3]
