The Shantay pass is an item used to exit Al Kharid through the southern gate at the Shantay Pass. Players can buy one for 5 coins from Shantay, who stands near the gate. One pass is required for each entrance into The Kharidian Desert from Al Kharid or the Ruins of Unkah, but is not required for passage vice versa.

After completing the Elite Desert Diary, players no longer need to buy a pass and can enter the desert free of charge.
